The Gambia Sonikara Namasanou Association was among many other associations that stood against former president Jammeh’s grip on power after he lost election. In a letter sent to this medium, the Gambia Sonikara Namasanou said: “This was done by all and sundry living in The Gambia and for that reason, we deem it necessary to show a quota of our happiness about the all process of the election. The victory was received with great delight by all folks in the aforementioned association and prior to the achievement, we played a crucial role in order to see changes. “We took part in the campaign and likewise the election tirelessly. Our dreams came to being and thus we praise Allah, the almighty for the gift. We endured long tenure of dictatorship under the previous regime and this resulted to the seizure of our rights as humans and as citizens. “We voted your government in so we can have all what we lacked during the previous regime. As citizens, we will always be with you in physicality and in spirituality. Our prayers for smooth leadership shall ever be with you. In conclusion, we wish you and your cabinet, long life and prosperity. “May the mercy of Almighty Allah shower on you, your cabinet, your family and the entire nation. Long live The Coalition Government, Long Live the Gambia. Forward ever, backward never,” the letter concludes.]]>
