Sumareh wins Player of the Month in Malaysia

By Modou Lamin Beyai Forward Mohamadou Sumareh has been named the Malaysian Super League player of the month for February following an exciting set of performances. The 22-year-old, who joined Pahang FA at the start of the season, has been on a scoring rampage for his new club who lie second on the 12-team league table after eight matches. Sumareh scored four goals in February as Pahang FA went unbeaten, with impressive wins over Pulau Pinang and PBDKT T-Team, as well as producing a spectacular assist for one of his side’s goals in the month. The skillful attacker, who is also comfortable on the wings, was part of a Malaysia XI selection that took on English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspurs in May 2015. Sumareh, who was born in the coastal suburb of Fajara, was on the brink of joining then Spanish La Liga side Real Club Deportivo Mallorca after a successful trial before negotiations hit the wall.]]>
