Yaws Creations will be holding a two –day event presented by a renowned Gambian fashion and interior designer, Awa Conateh; creative director of YAWS Creations.
The event is slated for 10th year anniversary taking place at the Kololi Beach Resort July 7th and 8th 2017 8pm prompt.
This event is to celebrate 10 years of YAWS Creations, a local fashion brand which was established in 2007 and has become a mainstay in the Gambian fashion scene. Her designs are influenced by her African heritage #afro revolution she uses to express the revolutionary attitude in her which aspires to inspire lifestyles ranging from fashion décor and events.
According to the founder of YAWS Creations, 10 years is a milestone for her business and career worth celebrating in grand style. Inviting 9 designers from Africa and Europe will create a platform for networking and business opportunities in the Gambian fashion industry. Breast cancer is killing so many women and needs to be stopped, she believes educating women about it can save so many lives. Awa Conateh will give back from the proceeds of the event to set up a foundation for breast cancer to help create awareness and save women.
The showcase will be two-pronged:
1.  Day one – Fashion show from Yaws Creations and 9 other invited designers, the night will also feature performance from Gambian artist, poetry, a short documentaries from Fashion and Cancer and launching of the Cancer Foundation hence #fashion for Cancer.
2.   Day two—This is a day set aside for a B2B networking event. Mainly organized for our sponsors and partners. An Exhibition by all participating designers. The objective of yaws@10 is to celebrate 10 years of existence in the fashion business, growth, style, culture and creativity; to launch the Cancer foundation which aims at creating awareness towards breast cancer and save lives, # fashion for cancer is being bold to put an end to it; to create a platform for local and international designers to network and explore fashion beyond Gambia, inviting designers and models will bring cultural exchange.
