Ebbeh-Gi Youth Development Association on Sunday donated food items to seventy-five households in Faji Kunda, as part of their Association’s contribution to support the most needy families, especially in these trying times of Covid-19.
The materials donated included75 bags of 25kg rice, 75 gallons of five-liter refined cooking oil and 75 bags of sugar 10kg.
Speaking at the presentation, Modou Loum president of the Association said: “We used to prepare iftar and take it to mosques every Sunday. But in this Covid-19, we decided that we need to do something different and then we came with an idea together with our members in the Diaspora.
“Our target was hundred compounds but we could not meet that, so we decided to make it to seventy-five and we name this as the first phase. We targeted the most needy community. This is not the first time we are doing this, because there was a time, in 2013, there was a heavy downpour and 21 households were affected here, and then we bought rice and took it to them.”
“Right now we have Covid-19, so we deem it necessary to come up with something to help people. It is hard on everybody, so this is why we came up with this iniative,” he added.
Adama Bah, a beneficiary thanked the Ebbeh-Gi Youth Development Association for their generosity.
