Casa-Gambia and MRC Holland over the weekend signed a project and laid a foundation stone for the rehabilitation of Brufut Lower Basic School.
The 2.6 million dalasis project will construct 10- storey building classrooms.
The chairman of Casa-Gambia, Ebrima Jatta, said Brufut LBS has undergone some major refurbishment, “all of which was sponsored by Casa-Gambia with the support of our development partners.
“This project was initiated as part of our commitment towards the National Development Plan. Such initiatives play an important role as they represent a tangible reflection of our citizens’ vision, purpose and values,” he said.
The education coordinator of Casa-Gambia, Amadou Bah, noted that education is one of the most important tools people can ever use to empower themselves, children and communities. “We Casa-Gambia value the education of every child. We promise our partners of our willingness and readiness to work with them for the foreseeable future,” he said.
He added that Casa-Gambia has already invested more than 2.6 million dalasi in Brufut Lower Basic School.
He informed the gathering that Casa-Gambia is also working on other projects in other areas such as agriculture, micro-finance, sports, health and education.
The school principal Sheriff Jammeh, expressed his delight and gratitude to the donors “for the kind gesture”.
