Comedian Kitabu Fatty, has told The Standard he is serious about his intention to run as a candidate for December 4th presidential election in The Gambia. The award-winning comedian said he will contest under the ticket of Progressive Democratic Party (PDP).

In an interview with The Standard, Kitabu said he has been working on this since last year and one of the reasons that motivated him is that most young people have been running after politicians and when those politicians get elected, they neglect them. He said that is what PDP wants to change.

When Kitabu made his intention known, many didn’t take him seriously but he added: “This is something I’m very serious about and comedians are the most intelligent people around the world”.

Kitabu said the party will be registered before March this year and he and his team will put their agenda forward to get support.

“I want to be president because looking at the living conditions of Gambians and even infrastructure, agriculture, health and education, nothing is working.
