The Councilor of Essau Ward, Kebba A. Jallow recently distributed football materials to 14 villages in his ward, Essau.
The items were made available through the partnership with Mbao, in Senegal.The two councils have signed an MOU on sports and youth empowerment.
The items were presented to the officials of the villages at a
ceremony held at Essau Lower Basic School.
The donated materials include balls and jerseys. Other items such as dustbins were also presented.
Kebba said the move is designed to support community development and empower youth participation through sports.
Presenting the items, Mr Jallow said he had promised his people that he would do everything to help them develop sports which can bring empowerment to the youths.“I am not a politician. I am a development person”, he remarked.
Ebrima K. Dampha, governor of North Bank Bank Region commended the councilor and his Senegalese partners and by extension the two heads of state for cementing the cordial relations between the two nations.
Honorable Matar Jeng, National Assembly member for Lower Nuimi said politics is all about promises and delivering.
“Politics is over now; what is left is for us to deliver to our people as promised;” he remarked.
Malamin Bojang, Chairman of Kerewan Area Council attended the ceremony.
