The president of a civic advocacy group, ONE GAMBIA Association, Sering Bojang has said that UDP leader Ousainu Darboe does not want his political protégé Adama Barrow to suffer the ignoble experience Yahya Jammeh had.
The Brufut born activist, currently based in Germany was speaking to The Standard yesterday in Brufut.
He said he believed President Barrow has got himself surrounded by people who are misleading him.

“Darboe and our association and indeed many others want Barrow to succeed; that is why in 2016 presidential election we participated fully to ensure that he won and kicked out dictatorship. So today, if that same system wants to come back, we would not accept that,” he said.

He said Jammeh’s enablers who destroyed the country through killing, torturing, jailing and forced disappearance are the same people jostling to get near and control Barrow and he must get rid of them otherwise Gambians will reject all of them together.

Mr Bojang said the President must realise that the people running around him are doing so to protect their interest.
