Detective Wanga testifies in Japineh marabout’s murder trial

He testified further that reports from one of his officers indicated that the deceased was a mentally-ill patient. When asked if the deceased was violent, he said: “I do not know because I did not see him when he was alive.”

Also asked if he had found out during the investigations that the deceased had previously been treated by the accused, detective Wanga said he did not know. He however admitted that the accused is a marabout known for curing mental illness. 

Karamo Njie, a marabout, is standing trial on a single charge of murder. He is accused of causing the death of Baboucarr Fadera, by tying his hands and legs, and beating him on the head and other parts of his body. He pleaded not guilty.
