The Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) offices are now accessible to the executive members of the board, The Standard confirmed yesterday after a visit to the headquarters of the committee on the Bertil Harding Highway.

More than half a dozen staff were found sitting in front of the office and they confirmed that the small contingent of police personnel that had been guarding the place blocking entry to the bureau executive members was withdrawn Monday afternoon. Momodou Dibba, the president of GNOC, confirmed that everyone now has access to the building but he would not give any further details. Though there has not been any official public statement from the Ministry of Sports on the matter since the all-party meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland, the latest development came after the expiry of the deadline set by the IOC for the return of the building to the GNOC, failure of which will see The Gambia suspended from all Olympic matters.
