The Gambia won a bid to host the next international conference of the Africa Sports Management Association ASMA in 2021.
The decision was reached at the recent 4th ASMA international conference in Kenya attended by National Sports Council Communications officer Ida Bah. The Gambia beat Burundi in the bidding which took a form of presentation from the two bidding nations’ delegates after which the entire delegates were asked to vote for the country they want to host the next ASMA conference.
ASTHMA was established in 2010 in Kenya where it has its headquarters. It is an affiliate founding member of the World Sport Management Association (WASM) and participates in all WASM activities including conference attendance, publications and other professional networking. Borri Darboe, the chairman of the NSC commended Ida Bah for successfully winning the bid for The Gambia and urged Gambians to prepare and own the event.
