The Gambian delegation of GFF president Mustapha Kebbeh and entourage are among those returning from Rio, a source told The Standard.
During the Caf meeting, delegates put up a robust defence of Caf president and other African football leaders accused by the Sunday Times of accepting bribes from Qatar’s Bin Hammam with some urging the concerned officials to go to court.
However, there has not been any news on the outcome of the planned discussions president Kebbeh said he would have with Caf on The Gambia’s two-year suspension.
The Standard yesterday contacted media officer Bakary Baldeh who said he has not yet been officially told of any outcome from the Brazil talks. Meanwhile, no word has come either from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, MOYS, which has also sought and was invited to have audience with the international football body on the same subject. “The way things work here you may have to wait until the official delegation returns,” an official told The Standard.
