Credible reports have emerged that senior officials of the Gambia Football Federation GFF have been visiting the National Sports Council NSC over the last two days.
A source at the Council confirmed the visits of President Lamin Kaba Bajo and few others adding that they had a meeting with Minister of Youth and Sports at the council’s office early yesterday morning.
According to our sources the GFF had some of its operations with Fifa affected by the recent suspension order placed on them by the NSC which was announced to have been lifted.

However said our sources, the GFF is now seeking a written confirmation of the lifting of the suspension so that Fifa could be at ease and continue to deal with The Gambia in football normally.
Our source further stated that although he did not know the outcome the GFF’s meeting with Minister Gomez, the NSCs position has been that the matter has been taken over by the National Assembly Select Committee on Sports who have already summoned all parties to a meeting.

Both the NSC and the Minister of Sports have answered to the Select Committee but the GFF who were summoned to report yesterday had issued a statement saying much as they respected the Select Committee they will not take any advice from them to comply with the NSC planned investigations which they described as illegal. The NSC and the GFF have been at logger heads since the former announced plans to investigate allegations of misappropriation of funds. The GFF denied any wrongdoing and insisted the NSC has no mandate to investigate them accusing the NSC chairman Borri Darboe of witch hunting.
