Giboro and Faraba Banta have proven to be the giants in Kombo East football and on September 10, one of them will go in history as the champion of the district. Sponsored by the Berewuleng Group the tournament’s champions will go home with a glittering trophy which they will keep for posterity and pocket as much as D20, 000 as cash prize. The Runners Up will receive a D15, 000 cash prize. Two other towns, Kafuta and Sotokoi, will contest for third and fourth places.
The Berewuleng sponsorship package comprises an array of 22 prizes and awards. They include gold, silver and bronze medals, awards for the leading goal scorer, best player, best goalkeeper, best defender, and best midfielder. Four sets of jerseys for the best four teams, and 200 T-shirts for their fans. The most outstanding referee, the most organised ground and the best fans will be awarded. This is the second time in a row Berewuleng is sponsoring the tournament and the objective is to promote grassroots football for the development of the game in the country. Last month Berewuleng performed similar intervention in the Kombo South district final too.
