While the Men’s beach Volleyball took the African championship in remarkable fashion, the Gambian track queen Gina Bass became the fastest woman in Africa in 200 meters.

The men’s relay team too finished with an improved new national record which also makes them the 4th best in Africa.

”It could never have been better than this,” said GAA president Dodou Joof who received Gina Bass and others at his residence last night.

The huge success in Rabat by both Volleyball and athletics is expected to inspire the government to look into the direction of the smaller national sports associations when it comes to funding.
