The minister was speaking at Serekunda East as he presided over the final of the Golden Jubilee inter-regional football championship won by CRR on Saturday.
“I think today’s event has proven that inter – regional football should be part of the GFF’s calendar of activities. Many years back it was one of the most popular competitions in the country. I would like to see more of this,” he said.
He continued: “This tournament is part of our decentralisation and it shows that football is developing in other regions as well and through this disciplines will follow as well.”
Currently the only time regions meet in football is at the bi-annual National Conference and Festival, Nayconf hence the minister’s call for a more regular tourney.]]>
