Runners from Kenya picked the coveted gold medals in the male and female 42-Kilometer race in the first edition of the Banjul international marathon yesterday. The male winner was Titus Tuwu while the female gold medal went to Mercy Jeum Too.
The run which started at Senegambia, sneaked through Brusubi, Airport road and Pipeline before ending at the Arch via Mile 7.
Over 200 athletes took part in the event, which also included a half marathon, a 10 and 5 kilometers as well as 4 kilometer walk for health race. The event is organized d by the United Front, a private group of Gambians sponsored by Royal Air Maroc, GTBoard.
