The Kanifing Municipal Council yesterday announced it has forwarded its 2022 budget to the Ministry of Lands and Regional Government for reviews and comments in accordance with the Local Government Act 2002.
The budget for the year 2022 encapsulates all the developments, services and administrative expenditure costs of the council, as well as revenue generation and equitable distribution of council funds amongst various areas for the coming year.
According to a statement from the KMC, the Council’s expected total revenue for the year is projected at D307,372,000.00.
The total expenditure budget is D307,222,176.35, while the subvention expected from the government stands at D40,092,000.
This, it added, is in line with the provisions of the Local Government Act, which provides for a 25 percent allocation from government towards the councils’ development budget.
The proposed KMC development budget is D211,035,835.35.
