New borehole inaugurated in Gunjur Kunkujang

A new borehole is ready for use after being inaugurated last Friday by the Director of Water Resources Lamin Mai Touray in Gunjur Kunkujang.
The project was sponsored by a British couple Mike and Bridgid, who are members of the Lions’ Club UK, through a friend Kebba Cham a former member of the club back in United Kingdom.

It is considered the biggest achievement in the history of the Kombo South settlement. Bridgid expressed delight for successfully contributing in providing clean water to the community.
She thanked Kebba Cham as the brain behind the success of the borehole.
The Alkalo of the village Bakary Janneh thanked the donors, saying the women who are the beneficiaries will be able to do their daily activities effectively.

Nikki Peter, daughter of the couple expressed her family’s joy in changing people’s lives.
Omar B. Jammeh, the project focal person commended the Lions Club UK for complementing government’s efforts in providing potable water.

The Majority Leader of the National Assembly Kebba K. Barrow, Director of Water Resources Lamin Mai Touray, VDC Secretary Musa Jatta all thanked the donors and urged the villagers to take care of the facility.
