A leaked memo from the Personal Management Office doing the rounds on social media has indicated that night allowances paid to civil servants on trek have been raised to D2000.
According to a senior civil servant who spoke to The Standard on condition of anonymity, said the memo is authentic and was circulated to concern offices. “However the policy has been put on hold and will not take effect immediately, not least because it could mean an avalanche of cash payments to hundreds of civil servants on trek with the president,” our source said.
