The day-long activity called Girl’s Festival is a concept of the world governing body Fifa aimed at making female football attractive to young girls thus increasing participation in female football.
According to the technical director at the GFF, Ebrima Manneh, all the kids attending will be introduced to the game and given equipment so as to attract their peers at home and school to football.
Meanwhile, a coaching course for female coaches which preceded the festival ended yesterday. About 30 participants drawn from all regions among elite national team players attended the training directed by Fifa instructor, Jacqueline Shipanga, a Nambian.
