The Gambia resumes her campaign seeking for place in the CAN 2019 finals with two important dates in two weeks. The Scorpions lost 1-0 to Benin in Cotonou last year in the opener of the qualifiers in a group that also includes Togo and Algeria.
The next date is September 8 and October 10 in Banjul against Algeria and Togo respectfully.
As part of preparations, The Gambia recently appointed Belgian coach Tom Saintfiet to oversee the campaign.
The Gambia Football Federation, GFF, announced over the weekend that the coach will unveil his team this afternoon as well as disclose his plans at Football House. Already there are concerns in many quarters after unconfirmed reports alleged that at least one potentially crucial player has been axed. It will be interesting to know who will make the team as Gambian fans very much want to succeed in the quest for a first CAN appearance.
