There is still some sting in the tail of the female Scorpions. At least they brought back joy to the hearts of Gambians by beating Guinea Bissau 2 -0 in a friendly Saturday. Coming after a long absence of activity the girls and their coach Mariam Sowe won praises and the confidence of the fans who are frustrated with the poor showing of the male teams in the recent past. The result now put the girls and Gambian female football in good stead for future official matches. The first of that comes next month when the junior side the Under 17 takes on Sierra Leone in the qualifiers of the next U-17 World Cup.
