With defending champions Serekunda East already out of this year’s Super Nawettan, the trophy will have a new label and it could be a completely strange name, Kombo East. Clearly the revelation of the tournament, the boys from the East are not yet in any mood of fear, intimidation or even burning their ambition to lift the trophy this year.
However, in tomorrow’s semifinal, they have a mountain to climb on their path. They will have to meet Mighty Brikama again. Their last meeting in the group stage ended acrimoniously when Brikama fans disrupted the match protesting a disallowed goal. Kombo East were were awarded all three points while Brikama got massive D30, 000 fine and no home matches next year.
To soothe that pain, Brikama is asking its players to punish Kombo East on the pitch tonight at Serekunda East. If Kombo East survives the excitement could reach a dangerous peak all over Faraba, Pirang and Kuloro.
Befor all that, Manjai meets Serekunda West today. The match is very similar to a derby, given the proximity of the two zones which used to be one before the creation of Manjai.
