Scorpions forward Bubacarr Trawally has scooped his Chinese Super League Most Valuable Player (MVP) after having the award presented to him at the weekend
The former Hangzhou Greentown winger, who netted a hat-trick in Yanbian Funde’s 4-4 draw at Beijing Guoan last week, was presented with his MVP award shortly before Yanbian’s 1-0 win over bottom side Liaoning Kaixin on Saturday.
As part of the award, Steve also got rewarded with a $5000 cash, money he said will be donated to the SOS Children’s Village and an orphanage in Siffoe.
“I am really happy to finally have this award in the store and have been so much looking forward to winning it. I am thanking everyone that believed in me and I hope this will be the first of many,” he told The Standard.
The 22-year-old, who still remains the only African player that was signed straight from the continent by a Chinese league club, has netted 11 times this season in the Super League.
