And that is why it is celebrated 1st October every year and The Association for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (TAPEA) is not left out in the remembrance.

The day is a special one for older people and senior citizens around the world. Older People deserves our respect and attention.

In addition to the wonderful things older people bring to our lives, a day set aside to honour them reminds us to take humble in the presence of long life and well-lived. We want to educate young people on many of the issues faced by the elderly, such as abuse and senescence the deterioration of mental physical processes.

We don’t know everything if we are lucky ade confers upon us a measure of self-awareness and wisdom. Focusing on the challenges faced by the elderly reminds us that there is still much to learn about ourselves and the world.
