Witness says Bakoteh youths want to lynch Alagie Bojang's killers

A police officer, Abdoullahi Bah, has told the Kanifing High Court, that he was part of the team that investigated the murder of Alagie Bojang of Bakoteh.

Six men Alpha Jallow alias “More Fire”, John Dallia, Solomon Mendy alias “Skepta”, Yahya Mboge, Baboucarr Jah and Gabril Mbowe aged between 19 and 25, are accused of murdering Alagie on 8th October 2019 at Bakoteh Housing Estate by stabbing and beating him, leading to his death at the Serekunda Hospital. They all pleaded not guilty.

The first accused Alpha Jallow was part of eight prisoners who escaped from Mile 2 Prison on 29th September, 2021 .

Giving his testimony before Justice Alexander Osei Tutu, Abdoullahi Bah said the death of Alagie Bojang caused consternation among the youths of Bakoteh who threatened to kill the accused persons.

He added that their after arrests, the suspects were placed in different police stations for their safety.

“We had angry youths in Bakoteh who were looking for them. On two occasions, we had to dispatch angry mobs at the police station.”

He also confirmed that friends of the deceased person attacked the house where Alagie was assaulted. The matter is adjourned for cross-examination.
