President Adama Barrow returned home yesterday from the United Arab Emirates, after a successful three days official visit.
During the visit The Gambia government and UAE signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will provide a legal framework of protection for potential Gambian workers in the UAE as well as support to increase access to vision and eye care services in The Gambia through the Sheikh Zayed Eye Care Center.
This followed talks between President Barrow the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
Also Abu Dhabi has pledged to support The Gambia in its bid to host the 2022 OIC summit in the following ways:
Provision of VIP vehicles for the Heads of State attending the Summit in The Gambia, Airport ground handling equipment for the Banjul International Airport and Aircraft parking apron at the Banjul International Airport to accommodate aircraft flying in for the summit.
