The 2020 Presidential Council meeting between The Gambia and Senegal begins in Dakar this morning.
The meeting will climax with the meeting of the two presidents, Sall and Barrow on Thursday.
This morning’s meeting of experts will run until Tuesday to be followed by the ministerial meeting on Wednesday that will pave way for the summit of the two presidents. The two-day expert meeting will discuss the different areas of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Dozens of officials from both sides drawn from the finance, tourism, security, communication, transport justice, education and youth sectors among others will be in attendance. The meetings are being held and coordinated with the Senegalo Gambia Permanente Secretariat whose Executive secretary Fode Seck is already in Dakar with his senior staff. It is widely expected that President Barrow will on Thursday travel to Dakar for the summit.
