FIFA LISTS REAL AS THE BIGGEST EXPORTER OF GAMBIAN PLAYERS

Top Gambian club Real de Banjul has been listed as the biggest exporter of football players in the Gambia, transferring the highest number of outgoing players in the last decade, according to the world football governing body, Fifa which published the out come of a research into the transfer dealings of clubs in every confederation over the past decade (10 years).

The Fifa report says Real de Banjul sold a total of 33 players outside the shores of the Gambia the last ten years, more than any other club in the country.

The report places among the top 12 out of 30 clubs in Africa, even ahead of Egyptian giants Al Ahly and Zamalek, Mohammed VI Football Academy (AMF) of Morocco, Club Africain of Tunisia, Berekum Chelsea FC and Asante Kotoko of Ghana amongst others. Over the past ten years, Real de Banjul has sold players to Spain, USA, Finland, Morocco, Denmark, Estonia, Italy, China, Sweden, Slovakia, Armenia, Kenya, South Africa, Liberia and Senegal.

Notable among the 33 players Real de Banjul sold include Sampdoria defender Omar Colley (to Kuopion Palloseura in Finland), Boavista forward Yusupha Njie (to FUS Rabat in Morocco), Ajman forward Bubacarr Trawally (to Hangzhou Greentown FC in China), MOL Fehérvár forward Lamin Jallow (to Chievo Verona in Italy), RSC Anderlecht defender Bubacarr Sanneh, James Gomez [current] and Famara Jarju (all to AC Horsens in Denmark).

Also, forwards Yankuba Jarju (SO Cholet), Muhammed Badamosi (KV Kortrijk), Ablie Jallow (RFC Seraing), Dembo Darboe (Shakhtjor Soligorsk), Alieu Fadera (SV Zulte Waregem), Alassana Jatta (Viborg FF) amongst many others have also all been part of players that Real de Banjul have sold over the last decade.
