The 17th edition of the IAAF World Athletics Championship starts on Friday 27 September until 6 October 2019 in Doha, Qatar.

Gambian athletics officials are hopeful that at least Gina Bass may land a medal in the world championship which will be the Gambia’s first at such level.

”The only event we have not yet won medals is the World and Olympic games.
