The newly appointed Secretary General of the Gambia Football Federation, GFF, Lamin Jassey has disclosed that his office did not receive any communications from the national select committee of sports summoning them to a meeting as reported in the press. He was speaking to The Standard Friday a day after Football House was due to report to the body.
‘I want to officially put on record that we at the Football House did not get any communication the effect,” Jassey said.
However a source at the National Assembly insisted yesterday that the letter addressed to the President of the GFF was duly delivered at Football House by the House’s designated courier.
I can authoritatively confirm through feedback from our courier that the letter was delivered to Football House,” our source at the National Assembly stated. He also confirmed that GFF did not show up until closing time.
The Select Committee had called all the parties in the ongoing row over GFF matters to report to the assembly. Both the NSC and MoYS have done so but the GFF which had earlier stated they will not cooperate with any suggestion to be investigated by NSC, now says they have not got any communication from the NA Select Committee.
