The absence of a definite name of the champion of the KM regional league in the draft fixtures of the second division league issued by the GFF last week has sparked speculations about the intention of Football House.
According to the KM regional football association which the GFF said it does not recognise, the champions of its league is Coman FC of Bakau.
“The absence of the team’s name in the draft fixture as the team that gained promotion to the second division as KM champions, makes us to wonder what is going on,” a concern KM official told The Standard. ”Are they suggesting that because of their quarrel with the KM regional football leadership the league too is not recognized?”, he asked.
The Standard contacted the second vice president of the GFF Ebou Faye who stressed that the fixtures as indicated is a draft. “Our understanding is that final outcome of the KM league is not decided as there is a pending appeal,” he said. Asked if the matter has nothing to do with football politics, Faye said the two are different. ‘Once there is definitive conclusion to the KM regional league and communications made to that effect the champions of KM will be included,” Faye said.
