Hawks, GAF on crucial international duty

Both champions GAF FC and FA Cup holders Hawks have arrived at their respective destinations in Nigeria and Zambia where they will carry the national flag in the first leg of the Caf Champions league and Confederation Cup preliminaries respectively.

The soldiers are in Lusaka are up against Zanaco on Saturday while Hawks is in Nigeria to take on Akwa United on Sunday. The GFF has splashed each with a quarter of million dalasi motivation present with another quarter of a million promised should they win the tie, the return leg of which is later this month at the Independent Stadium. Both Zanaco and Akwa United are teams supported by big sponsors and each control huge budget for salaries and materials compared to the Gambian clubs’ starvation wages and poor equipment. The Zambian club is rich with Kwachas from The Zambia National commercial Bank, their sponsors while Akwa United flies by Dana Air. However, both Gambian teams have vowed to fight to the last drop of their blood to eliminate their much fancied opponents.
