A presser on the first ever National CEO confab was last Wednesday organised at the Management Development Institute, MDI in Kanifing.
It will be staged at the Lebaranda Coral Resort and Spa Hotel, formerly Sheraton Hotel – from 27 – 29 August, and will be organised by MDI, in partnership with the higher education ministry, Gambia Investment and Export Promotion Agency, (GIEPA) Sahel Investment, and the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The conference looks to bring together heads of private and public sectors to dilate on fundamental issues affecting the economy.
“All chief executive officers will be put under one roof to discuss the prospects and challenges of our nation,” coordinator Bubacarr Fatty, told journalists.
To be organised under the theme Connecting and Creating for National Development, the event will target more than 1000 individuals – the best business minds and leaders in both private and public sectors including members of the media fraternity, Fatty said.
“President Barrow and other key actors in the economy including National Assembly members will attend the event,” he disclosed.
“…Twelve thematic areas will be covered ranging from travel and tourism, financial services, entrepreneurship, (youth & women) IT, media and telecom, healthcare, energy & industry, trade & logistics, agribusiness & fisheries, construction, education and real estate,” he said.
Alhagie Abdoulie Touray of Sahel Investment, said: “Each and every Gambian should see him or herself in the National Development Plan.”
