The minister of lands & regional government has praised the United Democratic Party leader, Ousainu Darboe for his steadfastness in defending the truth.
Musa Drammeh was speaking at a christening ceremony of the UDP Sandu NAM Hon Muhammed Mahanera in Tallinding last Saturday barely 24 hours after the former vice president was relieved of his cabinet duties.

“I want all of you to listen to me very carefully. I know Ousainu Darboe very well. He is very honest and straightforward and he always likes to support the truth,” Minister Drammeh said at a gathering attended by Ousainu Darboe himself, Omar Jallow (OJ) and many other parliamentarians.

Drammeh thanked Darboe for his steadfastness during the struggle to liberate the country in Jammeh’s 22 years of dictatorship, saying his (Darboe’s) honesty and love for the country cannot be questioned.
“The fact that Darboe attended this naming ceremony clearly demonstrates the kind of person he is,” he asserted.

He advised NAMs to represent the interest of their constituents.
“I want to call on all the national assembly members, be it those in the United Democratic Party or any other party, to realize that they were elected into parliament by their people to serve their interest. They must not at anytime deviate from their duties irrespective of their political difference,” he said.

He added: “You should be cognizant of the fact that your people did not elect you because you have given them something. You are elected to stand for them at the parliament to ensure that you defend the interest of the country at all cost. If you fail to do that after your five years in office, they will vote you out. There is no doubt about that because I was once in the parliament; I know how it works. We have very young parliamentarians and we want to encourage you to put your country at heart.”
