LRR Nayconf to attract 1,500 delegates

The event takes place in the Lower River Region in December this year and preparations have already been boosted by a one million dalasi pledge by the president.

The programme manager at the National Youth Council, NYC, Lamin Darboe said the week-long event would be staged under the theme ‘youth entrepreneurship and sports development”.

He disclosed that both the national and local organising committees are busy working on the preparations to ensure a memorable week of discussion and effective exchange of youth and sports development in the country.  He further revealed the formation of sub committees charged with such tasks ranging from culture to sanitation.

Adama Sabally, senior youth coordinator, department of planning at MOYS also spoke at the ceremony outlining the objectives of the week-long gathering which he said was first known as the Youth Week when it was introduced in 1974.
