Speaking at the presentation, Simpson said good and quality furniture helps in delivering efficiency and good practice by workers . “This is just the beginning; I have worked with the Ministries of Basic and Secondary Education and Health and I promised that I will work towards bringing more. I intend to bring another 40 feet container next month as a present for the Gambia’s 50th anniversary. I cannot promise the World but I will give you as much as I am physically able to do”, Simpson said. In response the Executive Director of the National Sports Council, Marcel Mendy thanked Simpson for the donation saying they furniture will help their work with national sports associations. “Most recently we realised that much as we want to regularise our national associations to make them efficient t is also important that we endeavor to provide them with office space and since then we have been working on that,” he said.
He said the equipments are specifically meant for national sports associations and regional sports offices.
The permanent secretary of the MOYS, Modou Lamin Ceesay also thanked the donor for the furniture.
