Team Rhino and Bombada FC both struck gold on Tuesday to close the gap on the top two, Sporting Real and Waa Banjul who cancelled each other in a goalless draw as Week 25 of the domestic second division got underway this week.

Sporting Real however stays top of the 16-team table with 52 points from 25 matches, a point ahead of second place Waa Banjul. Team Rhino’s 1-0 defeat of Steve Biko means they’ve now reduced the gap between them and second place Waa Banjul to just five points, with Bombada another four points behind following their 3-0 battering of Serekunda East -Bi. Biko is at the 9th place, with 32 points, while East-Bi is at 13th with 24 points from 25 matches.

With five matches to go, a maximum of 15 points grab, there is still a distance to trek for all four but the race is really tight. Only two teams will get promotion to the first division.
