The Gambia national volleyball team currently on a training camp in Dubai, recently received officials of the ministry of sports of the UAE at their hotel.
The delegation which met the Gambian team is led by Saeed Abdulghaffar Hussain, the secretary general of the ministry of sports in the UAE. Mr Hussain told the Gambian delegation that his country is delighted about their visit and assured that he will link them with the UAE volleyball federation for a possible cooperation between the two federations. The UAE officials surprised the team with a beautiful present, a brand new apple watch for each member of the team.
The Gambia Volleyball Federation’s secretary general, Pa Dodou Sarr thanked the UAE officials for the warm welcome and excellent accommodation and facilities put to their disposal. The team’s training camp was initiated by the Tijan Jaiteh Foundation of former Gambian internal football and Goodwill Ambassador Tijan Jateh.
The foundation also provided a coach for the Gambia female volleyball team through its cooperation with Italian Sports club ASCI- Umbria
