Business forum targets commercial, industrial operators

A day-long forum for commercial and industrial operators in the Gambia, including Italian companies yesterday wrapped up at a local hotel in Kololi.
Initiated by the Gambia Standards Bureau in collaboration with West Africa Constellation Program, the business forum seeks to bring together Gambia and Italian business men on development interventions for Gambian business protagonist in order to facilitate the transfer of technology, supply of machinery and materials of certified quality interventions.
Mr Papa Secka, the CEO of The Gambia Standards Bureau said the West Africa Constellation Program plans to intervene in various sectors in the Gambia, adding they are keen in ensuring that their services and products are of the same quality as that of European and international.
The chairman of WACP, Mr Gian Matteo Balestrine, said The Gambia is a good opportunity for foreign companies to invest in.
He said with the new dispensation, under President Adama Barrow’s leadership, things will go well as far as successes in business are concerned.
The Italian companies, who comes from diverse fields and WACP are working together with the Gambia Standard Bureau to mobilise investors like SORI TRONIC, who are mainly focusing on cold wines, storage and refrigerators, BRAVO SVL for building and construction sector, NO RADS IT Solution mainly for security purpose, and DPH in the area of electrical fields.
The uppermost aim of the workshop was to partner with the private sector in doing business in their area of interest for the Gambia’s sustainable development.
