Alhagie Darboe of Brikama United FC, read the full content of the ultimatum from the National Sports Council which gave a 24 hour deadline to the GFF to implement the following: First Vice President Buba ‘Star’ Janneh and Second Vice President Kebba Touray to resign; Technical Director Ebrima Manneh, Administrative Secretary Baboucar Jobe and Team Manager Saihou Bah to be sacked. Failure to implement these measures, the ultimatum went on, the National Sports Council shall be left with no choice but to dissolve the GFF.
But in his address on the matter, Alhagie Darboe said as the main stakeholders, they believed that the constitution of the GFF should be respected and used as a guideline in everything dealing with the GFF. “We believe that the constitution should not be put aside in everything dealing with the federation’,’ he said. The Brikama United representative said there would be a bigger convergence of club representatives at Football House today at which a formal announcement would be made on the stance of the clubs on the matter.
Meanwhile The Standard has reliably learnt that the 24 hour deadline expires today. Commenting on these developments, an analyst yesterday told The Standard the clubs are racing against time in a bid to establish a formidable platform to deflect any move by the NSC to dissolve the GFF.
