The meaning of rasul is apostle or messenger, the one who receives the message (resalah) to the people from Allah. The meaning of nabi is prophet, the one who brings the News. Therefore rasul and nabi relationship is that all apostles or messengers are prophets but not all prophets are messengers. All prophets of Allah are not rasul and all rasul of Allah are prophets.
Anyone who says Muhammad is not the last rasul and nabi is is a kurf and becomes murtad thus apostate. The Holy Qur’an say in Sura Al Ahzab 33:40:
“Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Messenger of Allah, and the Seal of the Prophets: and Allah has full knowledge of all things.”
Muhammad(saw) is the last prophet, he closed the long line of apostles not to talk about the prophets. If he is the last nabi and he is, then obviously there will be no another rasul or nabi.We are told in the Holy Qur’an Sura Al Maida 5:3:
“This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.”
In the above sura what is the favour of Allah other than the Holy Qur’an which is completed in revelation and Islam our religion. Having read Sura 33:40, and Sura 5:3 how can a Muslim say he is a prophet, nabi if he is not murtad. It is committing more than high treason to say so as a Muslim.
It is also stated in hadith that Muhammad (saw) is the last prophet and there will be none after him. I mention a few narrations from Sahih-Bukhari, Sunnah Ibn Majah and Sunnah Tirmidhi on the finality of prophethood.
Sahih Bukhari Volume 5 Book 59 Number 700

Allah’s Apostle set out for Tabuk, appointing Ali as his deputy (in Medina). Ali said, “Do you want to leave me with the children and women?” The Prophet said, “Will you not be pleased that you will be to me like Aaron to Moses? But there will be no prophet after me.”
Sahih Bukhari Volume 4 Book 5 Number 661

The Prophet said, “The Israelis used to be ruled and guided by prophets: Whenever a prophet died, another would take over his place. There will be no prophet after me, but there will be caliphs who will increase in number.” The people asked, “O Allah’s Apostle! What do you order us (to do)?” He said, “Obey the one who will be given the pledge of allegiance first. Fulfill their (i.e. the caliphs) rights, for Allah will ask them about (any shortcoming) in ruling those Allah has put under their guardianship.”
Sahih Bukhari Volume 4 Book 56 Number 732

Allah’s Apostle said, “I have five names: I am Muhammad and Ahmad; I am Al-Mahi through whom Allah will eliminate infidelity; I am Al-Hashir who will be the first to be resurrected, the people being resurrected there after; and I am also Al-‘Aqib (i.e. There will be no prophet after me).”
Sunnah Ibn Majah, Hadith Number 4067:
The Prophet (Peace be upon him) said: Allah has not sent any Prophet who did not warn his nation about Dajjal, but Now “I AM THE LAST OF PROPHETS (SAW)” and you are the last Ummah, he will for sure arise from amongst you.
Sunnah Tirmidhi, Hadith Number 2202
The Prophet (Peace be upon him) said: There will arise 30 grand Liars from my Ummah, each of them will claim that he is the Prophet whereas “I AM KHATAM AN NABIYEEN AND THERE IS NO PROPHET AFTER ME.
Sunnah Tirmidhi, Hadith Number 3272
Hadrat Uqba bin Aamir (ra) narrates that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said: Had there been a Prophet after me then it would have been Umar.
The Promised Messiah shall be the son of Mary and nobody else.
We are told in the Holy Qur’an Az Zukhruf 43:61 And (Jesus) shall be a Sign (for the coming of) the Hour (of Judgment): therefore have no doubt about the (Hour), but follow ye Me: this is a Straight Way.
Sahih Bukhari Volume 4 Book 55 Number 658

Allah’s Apostle said, “How will you be when the son of Mary (i.e. Jesus) descends amongst you and he will judge people by the Law of the Qur’an and not by the law of Gospel (Fateh-ul Bari page 304 and 305 Vol 7).
In another hadith, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) mentioned, “Allah will send Maseeh ibn’Mariam (Messiah son of Mary). Thus he will descend near the white eastern minaret of Damascus, clad in two yellow sheets, leaning on the shoulders of two angels.” [Sahih Muslim]
Allah’s Apostle said, “The Hour will not be established until the son of Mary (that is, Jesus) descends amongst you as a just ruler, he will break the cross, kill the pigs, and abolish the jizya tax. Money will be in abundance so that nobody will accept it (as charitable gifts).
Anybody who is in denial of Prophet Muhammad being Khatam an Nabiyeen and Maseeh ibn’Mariam being the Promised Messiah to come and the Mahdi at the time of the Dajjal is libeling against Prophet Muhammad (saw) and libeling (publishing false statements that’s damaging to a person’s reputation, a written defamation) is unlawful in the Criminal Procedure code and the Public Order Act.
