Mr Jammeh said his ministry was in solidarity with the swift action taken by the National Sports Council which included a strong condemnation of the lapses that led to the incident.
“We also aligned ourselves with the report of the task force which looked into the entire saga and came out with recommendations,” he said.
Asked what steps would be taken, Jammeh said: “We are waiting for the GFF. The GFF president was quoted in the media to have said they have taken responsibility so we are monitoring developments closely,” he said. He concluded by saying: “We leave all the matters with National Sports Council which we have fully empowered to deal with national associations.”
