Under -20 coach mattar Mboge and his team were expected to fly out early this morning to Monrovia for the Wafu Zone A championship.
Shortly before leaving, he told journalists that his primary objective in the WAFU tournament is to use the tournament to prepare for the AfCON U-20 qualifiers.
“I want to do the best for my country, family and friends because this is the first opportunity for me as a coach of the National U-20 team”.
“I have confidence in the boys because the selection process has given chance to all the players to prove their abilities so that no one is being left out,” he said.
The Gambia will start the tourney with a match against Guinea on April 25.
