MGI donates football materials to MoYS

Multimedia Gateway International, MGI has recently donated football materials to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, MoYS.
The donated balls, jerseys, training bibs, medical items and other relevant sporting materials were received by the youth and sport minister at a ceremony held at the Banjul International Airport.
The $30,000 worth of items came through a sponsorship agreement between MGI Zurich and Puma for the Gambia national football team.

Speaking at the donation ceremony, the executive director national youth council Marcel Mendy described his ministry’s relationship with MGI as cordial and beneficial, “MGI has been very supportive to the ministry and sports most especially in football.”

 

He said the relationship between MoYS and MGI has been going on for years now and they have been helping sport by providing materials and paying part of some of the national coaches’ salaries, and government have really enjoyed this relationship a lot over the years.
Mendy further assured the donors that the materials will be put in good use, adding that Gambian football is facing very crucial moment.

The MGI national coordinator Jerreh Sanyang assured the ministry of his organization’s continuous support at all time, “I also want to promised MoYS that we will extend our support to other sporting disciplines, because we have already start supporting cycling.”

 

Meanwhile, the minister of Youth and Sports Henry Gomez said giving the importance his ministry attacches to the provision of sporting materials the donations could not have come at a better time,”Tthis is a clear signal that MGI is vital partner when it comes to sports in these country.”
“We aware of the need to deliver as expected of us and I believe in action and results. The youth and sports really need institutions or organisations like MGI,” he said.
